To change your profile image click on ‘Profile’, and then click on your profile image to “Change picture”. You can either take a photo with the camera or you can upload an already existing photo from your phone’s library.

If the image you wish to upload is too large, it might be rejected and you will have to either try another image or resize it before you can use it.

Please be aware of our privacy policy and rules for use of profile images in Wordbase.

Loss & Won Statistics

When you click on your profile you can see your Loss and Won Statistics shown by a red and green bar to the right side of your profile image.

Every time you loose a game it will be added to your loss statistics, and every time you win a game it will be added to your won statistics.

Earned Points Statistics

The points in the top left corner of your screen shows your current storage of coins that can be spend on starting new classic games (if you’re not Gold or Premium), and the special game modes; Timed, Bombs and Wager. When you start Wordbase for the first time, we gift you some points to start out with and those are added to your storage of points.

The points in your profile are your total earned points. The gifted points are not earned, and if you decide to buy points in the in-game shop, these will not be counted as earned either, but will end in your storage only.

The amount of points in your profile – the total amount of earned points – will only become larger as you earn points by playing, while the amount in your storage will rise or fall depending on your spends.

You can read more about the point system here:

Achievements

By playing you can earn different achievements in Wordbase. Some are point based, others can be earned when you finish a specific action in game. For example after winning 100 times in a row.

The full list with achievements are not yet ready for public. But we will publish it here as soon as possible – and we plan on expanding the list with future achievements as well, so that it will be challenging for both new as for experienced Wordbasers.

So please, stay tuned 🙂

Report a missing word

We are working on improving Wordbase and our Word lists for all languages all the time, but are aware that Words can be missing.

To help us and others you can report missing or incorrect words from the ‘Report a missing word’ link in the game settings, or directly on our blog page here:

Suggest a Word

When you report a word it takes up to 4 weeks before it ends up in / is removed from the game.

We’re accepting words by specific rules – for example we do not accept proper nouns/names in Wordbase or words more than 12 letters long to prevent a player from winning in one move. The accepted words will be sent to professional proof readers before we add them into the game.

After proof reading the list with accepted words, the new words can be implemented into the game lists and we will create new game boards to match the new words and make sure they will be accepted in the game in future. The new boards will be released together with a game update.

NB. The suggest a word page is pulled in from our blog page and unfortunately we are seeing issues with this solution on some Samsung devices. If you have issues with the in game feature, please use the direct link in a browser, thank you 🙂

Log out

Sometimes it’s a good idea to log out through the settings and back in. If you find a glitch in the game it is always a good idea to try and relog to see if that helps. After logging out and back in, swipe down on the list with games to refresh.

TIP: You can always add an email and a password in your Wordbase profile by clicking on ‘Edit profile’. This way you can always log in using email and password after relogging.

Connection to GameCenter / Facebook / Google+

Connect to Game Center (iOS), Google+ (Android) or Facebook to make your experience bigger.

You can choose to create an account with Game Center, Google+ or Facebook – and then you will automatically be connected. But you can also create an account with email and then connect to Game Center, Google+ or Facebook in your profile inside Wordbase.

Be aware, that you are not able to disconnect from Game Center, Google+ or Facebook first you are connected. If you for some reason wish to disconnect, please contact support through the game settings with the issue.

TIP: Be careful not to start Wordbase with Game Center, Google+ or Facebook if you already created an account with email, but yet didn’t connect to either of them in game. Wordbase will then suggest you to create a new account, because it’s not connected to your old one. Should this happen, please contact support through your game settings and describe the issue with your old and new user name and they will help you.

Start a New Game

To start a game in Wordbase, click on the ‘New Game’ icon on the front page.

At the top you see two buttons: ‘Random opponent’ and ‘Choose opponent’.

If you start a game with the ‘Random opponent’ button ticked, the system will match you with a random player who wish to start a game in your language.

If you click on the ‘Choose opponent’ button you have some different choices:

  • You can find a random opponent or a player, you know, by typing in a / his / hers username in the search bar and a list with names or that person will appear. Click on the player, you wish to challenge, and invite them for a game through their profile.
  • You can click on ‘Invite friends’ and send a friend a text message, mail or publish an invite on your Facebook wall.
  • If you connected to Facebook / Google+ or Game Center through your profile, you will be able to select friends who are already playing Wordbase through the buttons at the bottom of the page.
  • If you already added friends in Wordbase, you can see those by clicking the ‘Wordbase friends’ button and then click on an opponent and invite for a game through their profiles.

After choosing your opponent, choose the game mode you wish to invite him/her for and simply click ‘start game’.

TIP: If you’re a normal player you can start 2 simultaneous free Classic games. If you’re a premium player you can play an unlimited amount of Classic games at the same time. There are game modes (Timed, Bombs and Wager) that requires points to be started, and if you’re not a premium player, you can start extra Classic games by sharing on Facebook, points or watching a video.

Start a game with ...

As a premium player, you can play an unlimited amount of Classic games in Wordbase at any time.

Are you not a premium player, you can start up to 2 free Classic games in Wordbase at a time, but you can also start extra games if you share on Facebook, watch a video or pay with points.

You earn points in game by playing, but can also invest in more points in the in-game shop through the shop link at the very top right corner.

The extra fun game modes next to Classic games are Timed, Wager and Bombs – and can all be started by using points.

League System

In Wordbase Leagues, you compete with other players in a league system. The long term goal is to reach the top division and, once there, beat the best of the best to become the reigning Champion!

Leagues are based on languages, and you can only compete in one at a time, so pick the league that suits you best carefully.

Each season you will be drawn into a series of 8 evenly matched players. You will play each one of these twice over the course of the next calendar month. All matches have a scheduled start day, making sure they are spread out evenly throughout the month.

If you win a league match, then we look at your dominance and save this value. If you end in the league with the same amount of points as another player, then we look at who has the highest average dominance and this player then ends at the higher position.

At the end of the season, you will be awarded experience points (XP) for the position you finished in as well as for special achievements during the season, such as having played the longest word or having a low average response time as a player.

If you’ve done well, the points you’ve scored will allow you to level up for the next season! This will promote you in the league system, ensuring tougher competition for next season. If you can’t level up right away, your points will be saved. They will be added to what you earn in future seasons, making it possible to level up then instead.

The points given out will change for each level you come higher. Essentially, we want it to be easy to level up at first, then it will become tougher as we want there to be fewer higher levels, making sure the league pyramid narrows, allowing for us to name a Champion at some point.

how to play wordbase How to Play Wordbase Wordbase Points Table 2

Timeouts works a little different in Wordbase Leagues. The first three weeks the timeout is 72 hours, just like in a normal game. The last week this is accelerated to a 24 hour timeout, to encourage all games to finish on time. If a match is NOT completed by the end of the month, it will be kept open and can be played to the end. However, the league points will be given to the player who had the highest dominance score when the timeout occurred.

League play is paid by purchasing a one or three month subscription in the Shop. Each season the winner of every series will be rewarded with a free season, which means you can continue to play Leagues for free as long as you keep winning!

Point System

When you begin your first journey in Wordbase, you will be gifted some free points to start out with. Your gifted points will be added to your point storage, which you can see at the top left corner of your screen.

You can also earn points by playing Wordbase and the points you earn will not only be added to your storage at the top left corner but also to your total amount of earned points in your profile.

The points in your profile are the ones to determine whether you unlock a new point-based title or achievement in game or not. The points in your profile can only raise in amount, while the points in your storage are the ones you spend when playing the special game modes; Timed, Bombs and Wager, or to start Classic games if you’re not premium.

Read more about the point system HERE

NB. The points you buy in the in game shop, points you win or are gifted, will only be added to your storage of points at the top left corner and not to your earned points.

When you click on your title you will find the list of Titles that can be unlocked and a description of what it requires. When you unlock a title you will be able to tick it in the list of titles and that way decide which title you wish to show and brag about to the public.
